Meet Nick Ollinger

Hometown Roots, Strong Local Mission

Nick was born and raised in Menomonee Falls and has lifelong ties to Waukesha County. Although his family moved away before the start of his sophomore year, Waukesha County always remained home in his heart. As an adult Nick chose to return to Waukesha County, the place where he wanted to live, work, and raise a family, because of its strong communities, shared values, and commitment to public safety.

Nick earned his bachelor’s degree while also playing collegiate football from Concordia University of Wisconsin. While in college he developed a strong foundation in leadership, discipline, and ethical decision-making. Guided by a belief in personal responsibility and service to others, Nick chose a career in law enforcement and has dedicated more than 13 years to protecting the citizens of Wisconsin.

Commander of the Detective Bureau

Currently oversees investigations and cases throughout Waukesha County.

2025

Captain of Sheriff’s Training & Standards

Oversaw hiring process of new deputies which included field training coordinators and become the WILEAG Accreditation Manager. 3rd child and 2nd son was born!

2025

National Sheriff’s Association Member

Selected Sheriff’s Committee member for our national border security.

2024

Promoted to Patrol Captain

Commander of 5 Lieutenants and 50 deputies throughout the county.

2022

Lieutenant of Detective bureau

Oversaw a multitude of Waukesha County cases and investigations.  Assisted the city of Waukesha during the tragic parade incident.

2021

Assistant Commander of Multi-Jurisdictional Civil Disturbance Unit

2020 was a hectic year for law enforcement, Nick commanded the unit involved in the Kenosha, Milwaukee & Wauwatosa Riots.

2020

Public Information Officer for Sheriff’s Office

Created messaging to the media and public on behalf of the Sheriff’s department. Had his second child and first son!

2020

Promoted to Patrol Lieutenant

Assigned as the 2nd shift Pewaukee Contract Lieutenant and oversaw the community programs of Pewaukee.

2019

First assigned to 3rd shift Lisbon contract

Selected to become a Defense & Arrest Tactics Instructor and had his first daughter!

2017

Selected For Tactical Swat Operator

Assigned 3rd Shift & patrolled Pewaukee communities and got married!
